This week, from the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in Burlington, Vermont, our line-up of outstanding performers includes a 21-year-old alumna who returns to our stage after winning last year’s Metropolitan Opera National Council Audition, an 11-year-old cellist performs a piece by François Francoeur, and a local teenage composer shares his piece for bassoon quartet.

Soprano and 10th Anniversary Alumni Performer Nadine Sierra, from Delray Beach, Florida, performs “Ah, Je veux vivre!” from Romeo et Juliette by Charles Gounod
The Bassooniacs (bassoonists Debra Egan, 16, from East Waterboro, ME, and Emily Olmstead, 16, Westbrook, ME, Emma Shapiro, 17, from North Waterboro, ME; and composer/bassoonist and Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Tim Woos, 17, from New Haven, VT) perform movements V and VII from Suite for Bassoon Quartet by Tim Woos
The Vermont Youth Orchestra performs III. Ritmico Con Brio from Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra by Joseph Schwantner. Conducted by Andrew Massey.
