Michael Taylor (composition), 17, is a recipient of From the Top’s $10,000 Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award from Arlington, TX. He started composing when he was 10, at the suggestion of his violin teacher, and began serious composition in 2006 with Michael Cox. Michael continues to study both piano and violin, and recently won second place in the Youth Orchestra of Greater Fort Worth Concerto Competition on violin. Michael has triple citizenship, having lived in England, Australia and the United States.
