Meet Jacob
Jacob performs with his brother, Ezra, on Show 422.
Jacob Lewis (violin), 16, lives in Newton, Massachusetts, and is a sophomore at Newton South High School. Jacob studies violin with Lynn Chang. His prior teachers include Angelo Xiang Yu and Sofia Gurfinkel. Jacob has won first prize at several competitions, including the American Fine Arts Festival International Concerto Competition, the New York International Classical Music Competition, and the Rondo Young Artist Competition. He is a member of the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. Jacob is passionate about chamber music. He received a full merit scholarship for the Honors ChamberMusicLab at the Rivers School Conservatory, and was previously a member of the honors chamber music program at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School. In addition to music, Jacob enjoys hiking, writing, and introducing his friends to classic films.
