This week, from Hoyt Sherman Place in Des Moines, Iowa, our line-up of outstanding performers includes a 16-year-old violinist performing the music of Edward Elgar, a guitar quartet from Minneapolis performing an evocative piece by Ben Verdery, and a teenage baritone, who tells us why a small town in Iowa can be an extraordinary place to study music. This show is part of From the Top and Orchestra Iowa’s multi-year residency, “Iowa Makes Music.”
