Stephen Kim Wins Violin Concerto Competition

On July 10 Stephen Kim (Show 193 in Mobile, AL) won the Violin Concerto Competition in Aspen! Today (Tuesday, July 19) he will perform Mozart’s Concerto No. 5 with the American Academy of Conducting at Aspen Orchestra.

Stephen told us:

Winning this competition is so special to me because my teacher Stuart Canin performed the same Mozart concerto in Aspen in 1963! It’s an honor for me to perform in the very spot that my teacher did 48 years ago (almost half a century!)

Stephen has also been invited to perform as a soloist with Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra and Carmel Symphony Orchestra in Indiana this fall. He’ll perform the Sibelius Violin Concerto with Terre Haute on September 24, and Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor with Carmel Symphony Orchestra on October 1st. Congrats, and good luck Stephen!
