Zachary Potts, horn
Meet Zachary
Zachary Potts (horn), 17, is a senior at Mary Persons High School in Forsyth, Georgia, and currently studies French horn with Achim Reus.. He is a recipient of From the Top’s Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award. Zach began playing the French horn when he joined his sixth-grade band. After participating in several festivals, such as the Georgia Music Educators Association’s All-State Band and University of Georgia’s MidFest, he deepened his commitment to the study of music. Zach was a member of the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony for two years and has been a member of the Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra for the past two years. He has attended the Kendall Betts Horn Camp, the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program, and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. When not playing the horn or studying, he enjoys outdoor adventure—especially kayaking and hiking.
