Meet Lorelei

Lorelei performs on Show 442.

Lorelei Schoenhard (violin), 14, lives in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, where she began her musical training in the Saint Cloud State University Music Preparatory Program. She studies the violin with Marion Judish and the piano with Bonnie Sorenson-Ernst. She is a current member of the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphony (GTCYS) and a former member of the Central Minnesota Youth Orchestra. She has played in the Saint Paul Chamber Music Institute, coached by the Jasper Quartet, and the Stringwood Chamber Music Festival, coached by the Artaria Quartet. She continues at the Artaria Chamber Music School. In 2023, she performed Saint-Saëns’ Violin Concerto No. 3 as the winner of the Saint Cloud Symphony Young Performers Competition. In 2022, she was a winner of the Minnesota String & Orchestra Teachers Association (MNSOTA) Mary West Solo Competition and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Minnesota Competition. Her favorite musical memories include playing under the stars at the ancient theatre of Taormina during GTCYS’ tour of Southern Italy and practicing by the lake on family vacations. Aside from music, Lorelei loves to read novels, build LEGO, and downhill ski.
