Lili Masoudi-Namazi (composer), 16, plays piano in addition to composing. They attended the Boston University Tanglewood Institute on scholarship in the summer of 2022 and are a current member of the New York Youth Symphony Composition program. Lili was a 2023 fellow with From the Top as well as the Luna Composition Lab, where they were further distinguished as the recipient of the Elaine Barkin Fellowship. In summer 2023, they embarked on a national tour with the National Youth Orchestra of the United States as a Composer Apprentice. This fall, they are attending Bard College & Conservatory on a full scholarship. An accomplished writer and visual artist, Lili is often inspired by other forms of art, seeking to fuse elements of jazz, rock, and Persian classical music with the Western classical tradition and create immersive sensory experiences through sound. Outside of music, Lili enjoys reading, writing, cooking, and going for walks.
