Meet Kent
KENT BARA began studying piano at the age of 5. Later, he learned cello through a Learn to Play Cello program in third grade. In seventh grade, he was accepted into the Special Music School in New York: a public school which funds for lessons, music theory lessons, and more with donor support. In freshman and sophomore year, he attended Fiorello LaGuardia high school for the performing arts. During his first two years of high school, he participated in the New York Youth Orchestra chamber program and won the Chamber Music Program award from the Chamber Music Society. Throughout his years playing cello, he has performed community concerts through Arts and Action. Currently, he is the principal of the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.
