Julia McLean, viola

Meet Julia

JULIA MCLEAN is a freshman at Tufts University. She currently plays viola in the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (BPYO) conducted by Benjamin Zander. Last December BPYO went on a small tour to Carnegie Hall, playing Shostakovich’s 5th Symphony. Julia also plays violin in the Tufts Symphony Orchestra. She has been playing violin since she was 5 years old, but switched to viola her junior year of high school, and now primarily plays the viola. Julia plans on double majoring in Music and Cognitive Brain Sciences.

Julia is a member of the Center for Development of Arts Leaders (CDAL) in Boston.
