Edwin Osorio, trombone

Hometown: Ecorse, Michigan

Meet Edwin

Edwin performs on Show 438.

Edwin Osorio (trombone), 17, began playing trombone in 5th grade. Originally from Ann Arbor, MI, he is currently a student of Tom Riccobono at the Interlochen Arts Academy, where he has studied for four years and is currently a high school senior. It is at Interlochen where Edwin began his more intense musical training, performing in the Wind Symphony, Orchestra, and Jazz Band. Edwin recently toured as a member of Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra (NYO2) in the summer of 2022. In 2021, he also had the opportunity to attend the Interlochen Arts Camp where he performed as a member of the World Youth Wind Symphony.

Outside of music, Edwin loves to exercise and cook, along with studying nutrition, and spending time with family and friends.

Receiving the Award will support Edwin in covering his college audition travel costs, provide him with the opportunity to take consultation lessons with prospective teachers, and allow Edwin to purchase a new custom-made trombone that will carry him through college and into the professional field.
