Arts Leadership in Rockport, MA
This past weekend, From the Top taped a radio show at the beautiful Shalin Liu Performance Center of Rockport Music. We had four amazing young soloists from all across the country, as well as a fabulous string quartet from our hometown of Boston. The day of the show, our performers gathered on the Shalin Liu stage to discuss the importance of music in our society, and how they, as young artists, have the power to inspire and create change within their own communities. They were asked to reflect on what they believe “Music Can” do, and to then share their thoughts and experiences with the rest of the group.
For every road show, we hope to share the power of music by bringing a part of From the Top to the community. Performers Ryan Norville (flute) and Stephanie Zyzak (violin) did just that by joining us at the Rockport Elementary School, where they performed for a group of string and flute students grades 4 and 5. The following video features both this school visit as well as a brief presentation from all of our performers on what they believe “Music Can” do. Check it out!
Tune in the week of September 19th to hear their show! Broadcast times can be found HERE.
