Maxwell performs on Show 407.
Maxwell Fairman (violin), 17, hails from Cincinnati, Ohio, where he is a senior at Walnut Hills High School. He is involved in several arts programs, including the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra Philharmonic, the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra Nouveau Chamber Players, and the Walnut Hills High School Chamber Orchestra. He studies violin with Almita Vamos and Davis King. Maxwell was recently named Semi-Finalist in the Junior Division of the 2022 Sphinx Competition. In 2016, Maxwell made his White House debut in front of Michelle Obama as part the Sphinx Perfect Fourth String Quartet. He made his solo debut at age 13 with the Cincinnati Philharmonic Orchestra. Maxwell won first place in the 2019 NAACP’s National ACT-SO competition and second place in the 2018 American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition Junior Division, which allowed him to perform at the Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall. He was first place winner of 2021 Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra Philharmonic Concerto Competition, and was also a 2019 CSYO Philharmonic Concerto Competition winner. Maxwell is a concertmaster of the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra (CSYO) Philharmonic and first violinist for the CSYO Nouveau Chamber Players. In addition to his talent for music, Maxwell excels academically; he is an honor student and recently received a perfect score on his ACT exam. He has many additional interests, including programming, music arranging, video games, and spending time with friends
