This week, From the Top is home in Boston at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall, where you’ll hear a 15-year-old pianist play Prokofiev’s Sonata No. 3 and an 18-year-old mezzo sing from Roméo et Juliette by Charles Gounod. You’ll also meet Eran Egozy, a clarinetist and one of the creators of the juggernaut musical video games Rock Band and Guitar Hero, who joins Christopher O’Riley and a teenage cellist to play chamber music by Brahms.

Pianist Mackenzie Melemed 15 from Paxton, MA, performs Sonata No. 3 in A minor, Op. 28 by Sergei Prokofiev

Violinist Samuel Katz, violin, age 17 from Leonia, NJ, performs “Spring Breeze” by Edward Kalendar

Clarinetist Eran Egozy, cellist Jonah Ellsworth, 16, and pianist Christopher O’Riley perform IV. Allegro from Trio in A minor, Op. 114 by Johannes Brahms

Mezzo soprano and Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Samantha Hankey, 18, from Marshfield, MA, performs “Que fais-tu, blanche tourterelle” from Roméo et Juliette by Charles Gounod

The Walnut Hill Sextet (flutist Michal Zeleny, oboist Sam Waring, clarinetist Nicholai Davies, bassoonist David Cornelius, French horn player Natasha Ramanujam, and pianist Hai-Yun Song), ages 17-18, from Walnut Hill School in Natick, MA, performs Sextet for Piano and Wind Instruments by Francis Poulenc
