Meet Yoo Jin
2015 bio:
YOO JIN AHN is a 17 year-old senior at Brookline High School. She is passionate about music and began playing the violin at age six and now is a student of Andrew Kohji-Taylor. She is a member of the New England Conservatory preparatory school’s, Youth Philharmonic Orchestra as well as honors chamber music ensemble which traveled to Iceland this summer. Ms. Ahn recently made her solo debut in Jordan Hall with NEC’s Youth Symphony Orchestra and she has also won first prizes at the 2008 Massachusetts Music Teacher Association String Competition, the 2010 Alexander and Buono International String Competition, and the 2015 American Protege Competition. Yoo jin has participated at the Killington Music Festival, Foulger International Music Festival, and the Bowdoin International Music Festival during which she studied under Mikhail Kopelman. This spring, she will be performing with the Cambridge Symphony. Ms. Ahn went to the Dominican Republic and France as a member of her church’s short-term mission team and since 2013, she has been serving as a member of the From the Top Center for the Development of Arts Leadership.
Yoo Jin is a member of the Center for Development of Arts Leaders (CDAL) in Boston.
