Daily Joy: Virtuosic Young Clarinetist
15-year-old clarinetist Joshua Choi shows us why Saint-Saëns wrote this Clarinet Sonata to feature the virtuosity of the clarinet, a then rarely-performed instrument.
Joshua Choi (clarinet), 15, lives in Palisades Park, New Jersey and attends Palisades Park High School. He is a recipient of From the Top’s Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award. He studies clarinet with Ayako Oshima at The Juilliard School Precollege Division. He is also the youngest principal player in the New York Youth Symphony. Joshua also loves playing the bass guitar and listening to music of all kinds. He is also very excited to travel and discover new areas of the world and experience different cultures and food.
