This season’s holiday program, recorded at the famous Fitzgerald Theatre in St. Paul, Minnesota, features young musicians from the upper midwest, including the 42 female members of the Bel Canto Voices, the Minnesota Youth Orchestra Brass Choir, and an extraordinary 12-year-old pianist playing Chopin. Also, the “From the Top Players” will present their touching new production of A Christmas Carol– based on a true teenage story.

Pianist Nora Ali, 12, from Mendota Heights, MN, performs Scherzo in B minor, Op. 20 by Frédéric Chopin

Pianist Christopher O’Riley performs “Fake Plastic Trees” by Radiohead, arranged by O’Riley

The Minnesota Youth Symphony Brass Ensemble performs Canzona Septimi Toni No. 2 by Giovanni Gabrieli. Directed byManuel Laureano.

Clarinetist Johnny Teyssier, 15, from Shoreview, MN, performs Premiere Rhapsody by Claude Debussy

The Bel Canto Voices and the Minnesota Youth Symphony Brass Ensemble perform “What Sweeter Music,” by John Rutter, arranged by Lee Blasky (closing of program)
