Kei performs on Show 429.
Kei Obata (violin), 17, lives in Andover, Massachusetts, where he is a student at Philipps Academy. He has studied with Soovin Kim, Catherine Cho, and Ray Iwazumi and has attended masterclasses with Aaron Rosand and Victor Danchenko. Kei is affiliated with Juilliard Pre-College and Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, and he is the concertmaster of the Phillips Academy Chamber Orchestra. While Kei has won many accolades, he especially enjoys playing at nursing homes and leaving with the residents smiling. Outside of violin, he likes to play basketball, eat, travel, watch ice hockey and baseball, watch movies and TV, read, and listen to podcasts.
