Meet Jennifer
Jennifer appeared with Zhanshuo Zhang in a piano duo on Show 404, airing October 18, 2021.
Jennifer Centa (piano), 18, is a senior at Mauldin High School in Greenville, South Carolina. She began her piano studies at the age of five with private teachers Hiromi Church and Dr. Edna Mory. Currently, Jennifer studies under the tutelage of Lisa Kiser, a highly respected private teacher. Since beginning her studies a few years ago with Mrs. Kiser, Jennifer has won multiple competition prizes and awards. Some of these include first place in the W. Darr Wise Piano Competition, the South Carolina Music Teachers Association Competition, and the Greenville Music Teachers Association Competition. Jennifer placed first in the Clemson Young Artist Concerto Competition and performed with the Clemson University Orchestra. She also placed first in the 33rd Annual Carolina Youth Symphony/ Bernhardt House of Violins Concerto Competition and performed alongside the Carolina Youth Symphony. Every week, she performs as a music director at a local church, providing accompaniments for the congregants. Besides playing piano, Jennifer loves playing clarinet, tennis, traveling, and spending time with her loved ones.
