Elisa Plano (piano), 16, was born in Italy and currently resides in Mendon, Massachusetts. Raised in a family of musicians, she started playing the piano at the age of five at the Accademia Musicale Varesina, Varese (Italy), under the guidance of her mother, pianist Paola Del Negro Plano. Elisa has won several prizes in National and International Piano Competitions, including First Prize at the International Piano Competition “City of Albenga”, First Prize at the Music Competition “Talenti in Canavese” in Aglié (Turin), Second Prize at the International Piano Competition “Remo Vinciguerra Prize” (where she was selected to participate in the recording of composer Remo Vinciguerra’s music), and Second Prize at the National Music Competition “Piove di Sacco” (Padova). In 2023, Elisa will be performing at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York as First Prize winner of the 2022 “Golden Classical Music Awards” International Competition, and in Canada as First Prize winner of the Star Cluster Music Competition Summer Season 2022, Toronto. Elisa is currently studying cello with Alexander Badalov and voice with Junko Watanabe at The Rivers School Conservatory in Boston, and she continues to study piano with her parents, pianists Paola and Roberto Plano. Outside of music, Elisa loves drawing and spending time with friends.
