This week’s show comes to you from Carnegie Mellon University’s Mellon Institute in Christopher O’Riley’s hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
You’ll hear a spirited performance of Bernstein’s Sonata for Clarinet & Piano played by a sophisticated 17-year-old clarinetist and a gorgeous performance of Cassado’s Requiebros played by a 14-year-old cellist. Plus, Chris discusses music with children’s television legend Fred Rogers (his real-life neighbor back in Pittsburgh), and Chris’s mom even stops by to “dish the dirt” on her son.
