From Carnegie Mellon University’s Mellon Institute in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, this week’s show features five outstanding musicians, including a 15-year-old from West Virginia performing the first movement of Hayden’s Trumpet Concerto in E-flat, a 16-year-old flutist from Ohio performing Carl Doppler’s Mazurka de Salon, and a ten-year-old violinist from Baltimore playing Wieniawski’s Scherzo-Tarantella. Plus, two of today’s talented teens compete in a spirited round of musical jeopardy.
