About
Young classical musicians who are also jocks… that’s one of the themes of this week’s From the Top. We’ll hear tales of triumph from the soccer field as From the Top records in the acoustically marvelous Van Cliburn Recital Hall in Fort Worth Texas. Musical highlights include a gorgeous performance by a teenage guitarist from Plano, Texas and a wonderful violinist playing Beethoven. Announcer Joanne Robinson proves she can sleep and announce at the same time, and the From the Top players explore just how strenuous it can be to perform in a youth orchestra in a little skit called “Lock Down!”
