Samantha Hankey Shares Her Talent with Students at Her Old Elementary School

18-year-old Mezzo Soprano and Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Samantha Hankey visited her old school, Eames Way Elementary, to put a new spin on classical music for younger kids. Over 150 third through fifth grade students were in the audience! After a program with music from Mozart to Amazing Grace, Samantha talked about how music has forever changed her life and shared the numerous opportunities available for those wanting to pursue a path in classical music.

“My goal…was to expose kids from my former elementary school to classical music, as I never had that opportunity as a child in Marshfield. I believe it’s extremely important to at least have the chance to know what else is out there aside from the media and what is taught in schools, often lacking the fine arts.”
