Ray Ushikubo Performs for his Hometown’s Chamber of Commerce

On March 10th, 9-year-old pianist and Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Ray Ushikubo was invited by his school district to perform for his hometown’s Chamber of Commerce at their monthly gathering. The goal of the presentation was to introduce students who “represent more than just test scores.” The meeting took place at the Riverside Mission Inn, and had over 200 people in attendance.

“I had been thinking about how I could contribute to my community since the community gave me my music education, which is the most important thing in my life. I hoped to share this with the community through my performance. There are many people who are not accustomed to classical music in the community. They think it is boring and not fun.”
