Meet Viviana
Viviana performs on Show 446.
Viviana Alfaro (harp), 17, is from Hughson, California. She started playing celtic harp at the age of 4 with Margie Butler. At 8, she began studying classical harp with Dominique Piana. Currently she studies with Linda Wood-Rollo. Viviana has also studied at the San Francisco Conservatory Pre-College Program with Jennifer Ellis.
Viviana has performed in at least fifty recitals. In 2021, she won the Silver Award Level II in the Yvonne La Mothe Schwager Competition For Young Harpists. She also participated in the American Harp Society 2021 National Competition. In 2023, she won third place in the Hampton Roads Harp Festival and Competition with Anastasia Pike and the Silver Award Level III in the Yvonne La Mothe Schwager Competition For Young Harpists. More recently, she toured and performed in Europe with OSYO, attended the North Coast Harp Institute with Yolanda Kondonassis, and attended Mpulse Harp Summer Camp with Joan Holland.
Viviana has played with the Modesto Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Modesto Junior College Community Orchestra, and the CSU Stanislaus Orchestra.
Viviana plans on continuing her musical education in college and pursuing a professional music career. She has been accepted to three programs on full scholarship Oberlin Music Conservatory, Eastman School of Music, and Indiana University Bloomington Jacob School of Music.
