Meet Tyler

Tyler Kim appears on Show 398, airing April 19, 2021.

Tyler Kim (piano), 18, lives in Temecula, California, where he is a senior at Temecula Valley High School, and studies piano with Myong-joo Lee. Tyler previously attended the Colburn Music Academy and is currently enrolled in Chamber Music OC and Junior Chamber Music Orange County. He has performed with various orchestras including the San Diego Symphony, Montgomery Symphony Orchestra, Alicante Philharmonic Orchestra of Spain, and more. Tyler was the grand prize winner at the Los Angeles Music Center’s Spotlight Competition, first place winner of the Blount-Slawson Young Artists Competition and Mondavi Center National Young Artists Competition, third prize winner of the Hilton Head International Piano Competition, among other awards. During quarantine, Tyler learned to build his own computer.
