Taki Salameh (composer), 18, from Skokie, Illinois, is a senior at Interlochen Arts Academy where he studies both composition (with Sean Friar) and bassoon (with Dennis Michel and Eric Stomberg). Taki is interested in promoting equity as well as collaborating with other artists through his work. He has enjoyed numerous chamber music experiences that have led to being a semifinalist in both the M-Prize and Fischoff International Chamber Music Competitions. He received Merit in the National YoungArts Foundation competition in classical composition and the opportunity to be an apprentice composer of the National Youth Orchestra. Taki begins studies at USC this fall. Outside of music, Taki enjoys playing video games, spending time with friends, reading, and watching anime.
