Meet Steven

Ruochong “Steven” Cui (piano), 11, is in the fourth grade at Seven Locks Elementary School in Bethesda, Maryland. Originally from Chegdu, China, he currently studies piano with San-Qing Lu-Bennaman and will start studying at the Juilliard School in New York in the fall. His favorite musical experiences include winning first prize in his group in the 24th Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition for Children and Youth in Poland last May, winning first-prize in the Catholic University of America International Piano Competition in the pre-college group last July, and having his personal debut recital in November. Outside of music he likes technology, comedy, and aircrafts.
