Meet Sanket

Sanket appears on Show 452.

Sanket Vankayalapati (saxophone), 17, lives in Weston, Massachusetts. He began saxophone lessons at the age of eight and is a current student of Professor Philipp Stäudlin at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. He is an alto and soprano saxophonist in the Senior New England Youth Wind Ensemble and, as a student of the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, plays in the Youth Saxophone Ensemble and will be joining the Senior Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble on a tour of coastal Spain. This past summer, Sanket attended the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Saxophone Workshop, where he studied with NEC’s Kenneth Radnofsky and BU’s Jennifer Bill. Outside of music, Sanket enjoys cooking and trying different cuisines and meeting new people.
