Rujia Teng (guzheng), 18, is from Rockville, Maryland, and attends Montgomery Blair High School. She studies guzheng with Bing Xia. She is a recipient of From the Top’s Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award. Rujia performs as a member of the Washington Guzheng Society. She has participated in the 2011 American Folk Festival in Bangor, Maine, and the 2012 Maryland Traditions Folklife Festival in Baltimore, Maryland. Rujia also plays the flute. Outside of music, she plays volleyball and is on the debate and public speaking teams at her school.

Rujia is a Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist.
