Meet Raymond

Raymond performed on Show 389 from Merkin Hall on September 25, 2020.

Raymond Tsai (cello), 17, is from Phenix City, Alabama. He is home-schooled and has studied cello with Wendy Warner at Columbus State University’s Schwob School of Music as well as with Steven Dolan and Richard Aaron. Raymond has won numerous competitions, including first prize in the Blount-Slawson Young Artist Competition and has soloed with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, the Georgia Philharmonic Orchestra, and Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra. Raymond comes from an exceptionally musical family, and his two older siblings have also performed on From the Top. Outside of cello, Raymond enjoys oil painting, playing guitar, and listening to Christian rock.d
