Meet Nita

Nita Qiu appeared on Show 345 recorded in September 2017, at age 15, and received the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award in conjunction with her appearance.

Nita Qiu, 15, piano, is from Woodbury, Minnesota, and is a sophomore at the Trinity School at River Ridge. Nita is currently studying at the Crocus Hill Piano Studio with Joseph Zins and has been since she began playing piano at age five. She has won first place at the St. Paul Piano Teachers (SPPTA) Concerto Competition and was awarded one performance with the Mississippi Valley Orchestra. In addition, she has attended the International Institute of Young Musicians. When she is not practicing piano, Nita enjoys competitive swimming, biking, and reading novels.
