Meet Micah
Micah performs on Show 482.
Micah Chan (cello), 17, from Houston, Texas, playing the cello at age four and currently studies with Brinton Averil Smith. His previous teachers and mentors include Madeleine Golz, Amy Barston at the Juilliard School’s Pre-College Division, Leo Singer, Horacio Contreras, and Hans Jørgen Jensen. Micah has featured as soloist with the Dwight-Englewood Orchestra after winning the school’s concerto competition. He has performed in master classes led by such artists as Paul Watkins, Astrid Schween, Peter Stumpf, and the Quartetto di Cremona; and participated in summer festivals such as Meadowmount, Center Stage Strings, and Credo.
