Meet Lorenzo

Lorenzo performs on Show 465.

Lorenzo Ye (cello), 17, from Boston, Massachusetts, plays both cello and piano. He is a projectSTEP student studying with Meghan Carye. Over the summer, Lorenzo attended the Sphinx Performance Academy at the Juilliard School of Music, and served as principal cellist in the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles/Gustavo Dudamel Tour “Voices for the Future” in Bogota, Colombia. Currently, Lorenzo is the principal cellist in his school’s Concert String Orchestra and in the NEC Prep’s School Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, and he has earned a spot in this year’s National Pathways Festival Orchestra with the Chicago Symphony.

A senior at the Boston Latin School, Lorenzo is currently studying composition at the New England Conservatory Prep School and the co-founder of the nonprofit BostonCityShowcase. Outside of music, Lorenzo is a member of his school’s Varsity Sailing and Model UN team.
