Meet Lily

LILY HONIGBERG Originally from Washington, D.C, this eighteen-year-old violinist is in her freshman year at New England Conservatory after studying with Paul Sonner at the Interlochen Arts Academy in northern Michigan. Lily just spent her summer as part of the USA’s National Youth Orchestra touring nationwide with conductor David Robertson and violinist Gil Shaham. She is very fortunate to play on a 19th century ‘Joseph Guarneri 1732’ model violin crafted by Frederick William Chanot (1857-1911). Lily comes from a family of classical musicians. Her father is an acclaimed American cellist in the National Symphony and her mother and grandmother are both actively performing and teaching pianists. Outside of violin, Lily enjoys playing sports, especially basketball. She loves travel and exploring new corners of the world.
