He is the Founder and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Ragtime, one of New York City’s largest student-run high school newspapers, and holds elected leadership roles as Student Government Co-President and Debate Team Co-President at Special Music School High School. In 2024, he was named an Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra Outstanding Young Musician, and in 2025, a Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Gold Key winner.

Receiving the award will allow Liam to purchase a new bow which will serve him through college and into the professional field. The award will also support his upcoming college audition recording needs and allow him to take consultation lessons with prospective teachers.
