Meet Lauren

Lauren Kim (flute), 17, attends Ridgefield High School in her hometown of Ridgefield, CT. She studies flute with Bart Feller at The Juilliard School Pre-College Division. In 2021, she was a National Youngarts Foundation Winner, a top prize winner for the International Grande Music Competition, and a participant in Boston University’s Tanglewood Institute. She was also awarded first prize in the Bellagrande International Music Competition and second prize in the CAI Solo Competition in 2020. Lauren has performed in masterclasses with renowned flutists including Robert Langevin, Valerie Coleman, Jasmine Choi, and Demarre McGill. She attended Greenwood Music Camp in 2018 and 2019. At her school, Lauren is co-captain of the mock trial team, vice president of class council, and the founder of a student-led podcast. Lauren also enjoys travel, fashion, films, and novels.
