Kate performed on Show 338 in New York, New York at The Weill Music Institute at Carnegie Hall on April 23, 2017.

Kate Wegener (oboe), 16, from Easton, Connecticut is a junior at Joel Barlow High School and studies at the Neighborhood Music School in New Haven. She is in the studio of Kathryn Giampietro and performs with the Greater New Haven Youth Orchestra and the Fairfield Wind Quintet. Attending the oboe workshop at Boston University Tanglewood Institute was one of her most memorable and influential musical experiences. Outside of music, Kate is the editor of her school’s literary journal and is a member of the science research club at school.
