Meet Jun

Jun performs on Show 475.

Jun Kim (clarinet), 16, is from San Diego and a junior at Canyon Crest Academy. A student of Sam Boutris, he currently is a member of the San Diego Youth Symphony.

Recently, Jun participated in Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra 2 (NYO2) and Boston University Tanglewood Institute. He has collaborated with distinguished artists such as William Eddins, Rafael Payare, Thomas Weaver, and Alisa Weilerstein.

Beyond his own studies, Jun is committed to helping nurture younger musicians. He is a leadership team member of the Carmel Valley Summer Symphony, a student-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on providing free and accessible music education for students in San Diego. Additionally, he has served as a coach for the Solana Beach School District’s Beginning Band program.
