Meet Jacob

Jacob performed on Show 390 from Merkin Hall on September 25, 2020.

Jacob Shin (viola), 18, is from Fort Lee, New Jersey, and is a senior at Riverdale Country School. He studies with Patinka Kopec at Manhattan School of Music Precollege Division. Two of Jacob’s proudest moments have been being chosen as a recipient of the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award and receiving the Patinka Kopec Precollege Violin Scholarship as a violist. Outside of Music, Jacob enjoys sports, food, cinematography, and architecture, and in the future he hopes to pursue the social sciences alongside music.
