Meet Hannah

Hannah Oh (cello), 17, is currently a high school junior at Phillips Academy in Andover, MA. She began the cello at the age of five and now attends New England Conservatory Prep as a student of Allison Eldredge. She is also a mezzo soprano and is continuing her recently started vocal journey with D’Anna Fortunato, also at the New England Conservatory.

Within Phillips Academy, Hannah is a part of the Chorus Association as well as the Fidelio Chamber Chorus Society. She is also a member of the community engagement program Andover Lawrence Strings where she teaches elementary students how to play the cello. Outside of school, Hannah is fortunate to perform as a member of the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and take classes and private lessons through New England Conservatory’s Preparatory School. She is also a Regional Director and Director of Global Operations for the non-profit organization Back to Bach Project.

Hannah has been awarded the opportunity to attend some wonderful summer music programs, including the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Cello Intensive, Carnegie Hall’s NYO2 program, Center Stage Strings, and the Cremona International Music Festival. Besides expressing herself through the cello and her voice, Hannah also loves to write songs, produce music, play her guitar, and collaborate with other musicians.

Outside of music, Hannah’s academic interests include psychology and mental health.

Receiving the award will allow Hannah to purchase a new cello and bow, and provide the opportunity for her to attend a summer festival in 2026.
