Meet Glenn

Glenn Choe (marimba), 16, is from Cedar Park, Texas. He is in his junior year at Vista Ridge High School, where he plays with the Vista Ridge Wind Ensemble and Marching Band under the direction of Bryan Christian, Hector Gil, and Jordan Walsh.

Some of his achievements include winning first prize at both the 2021 POTS Festival/Competition and the 2019 Great Plains International Marimba Competition, being a 2020 Starlight Symphony Concerto Competition winner, a finalist for both 2021 Inpercussion Competition and 2020 Italy PAS Music Emergency Contest, and a winner of the PASIC 2019 Texas Chapter Scholarship. He has also been a part of the TMEA All-State (6A) for two years as well as the 2021 National Youth Orchestra USA (NYO-USA) and 2020 NYO 2.

As Glenn chases his passion in percussion, he is continuously learning, challenging himself, and becoming inspired by the many different instruments and genres music has to offer.

Outside of music, Glenn enjoys drawing, learning about multiple subjects, and sitting on his phone like most teenagers.
