Meet Celia
CELIA DAGGY is in her first year of undergraduate studies at Boston University, where she studies with the principal violist of the Boston Symphony, Steven Ansell. She has previously performed with the Young Artists Symphony Orchestra, the Young Musicians’ Foundation Debut Orchestra, and the American Youth Symphony, all in Los Angeles. In 2015, she toured China with NYO-USA and was a quarterfinalist in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. This past summer, she played principal viola in the Boston University Tanglewood Institute’s Young Artists’ Orchestra under the baton of Ken-David Masur. Throughout her career, Celia has played with conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Charles Dutoit, James Conlon, Emmanuel Villaume, and Harvard University graduate Yuga Cohler. She is currently a member of From The Top’s CDAL program, as well as the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, conducted by Benjamin Zander.
