Branson Yeast (cello), 18, is a recipient of From the Top’s $10,000 Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award. He is a senior at Houston’s High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, TX and has attended the Encore School for Strings summer program in Hudson, OH. Branson currently performs with both the Houston Youth Symphony and the Virtuosi of Houston chamber orchestra. In addition to the cello, he also plays the piano and the hand bells. In his spare time, Branson enjoys researching famous musicians, having even traced his “musical family tree” back to Bach.
