Avery Roth-Hawthorne is from Oakland, California and attends the Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts. He is a recipient of the Jack Kent CookeÕs Young Artist Award. Avery studies with Kevin Rivard, principal hornist of the San Francisco opera and ballet. Avery is a member of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra. At the San Francisco School of the Arts he performs in the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and as a member of various chamber ensembles. He was a member of the 2012 California All-State Honor Wind Ensemble, and he attended the Kinhaven Music School in 2012 and 2013. Avery also enjoys singing and songwriting. He sings in many choirs, and he sang with the San Francisco Symphony under Michael Tilson Thomas in a performance of Gustav MahlerÕs ÒSymphony No. 8.
