Andrew (Sijie) Li (piano), 15, currently lives in Boston, Massachusetts, where he attends the Walnut Hill School for the Arts. He is originally from Toronto, Canada, and also spent his earlier years in Hong Kong. Andrew began taking piano study seriously when he was ten, upon meeting his teacher, Alexander Moutouzkine. In 2020 and the following two years, he studied with Dang Thai Son and Michael Berkovsky at the Taylor Academy of the Royal Conservatory of Music. He began studies with Dang Thai Son and Wha Kyung Byun at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School in 2022, as their first pre-college student.

Andrew has performed at well-known concert halls such as Jordan Hall, Mazzoleni Hall, and Koerner Hall, and he has appeared on PBS SoCal. He has won prizes in the Classicalia Global Televised Competition, 13th Chopin International Competition in Hartford, 10th Yamaha USASU Young Artists International Junior category, NEC Preparatory School Concerto Competition, Miami Music Festival Concerto Competition, and Canadian International Competition. He looks forward to performing with the Vienna Mozart Orchestra in Konzerthaus of Vienna in June, 2023.

Andrew’s interests outside of piano include world history, film, chess, golf, reading, hiking, swimming. He serves the community as a member of the Back to Bach Project organization and performs at elementary schools, senior centers, and for fundraises for hospitals.
