Meet Alistair

Alistair will perform on Show 353 at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music on March 4, 2018.

Alistair Coleman (composer), 19, is from Bethesda, Maryland and now attends the Juilliard School. He has studied with Dr Robert Beaser of Juilliard and David Ludwig of the Curtis Institute. Alistair was a winner in the 2017 NextNotes High School Composition Awards of the American Composer’s Forum. As a NextNotes winner, Alistair was chosen to participate in a special workshop for five elite high school composers in Minneapolis, which he says was his favorite musical experience to date. In 2016, Alistair was commissioned by the National Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorale to write a piece for 200-member choir, brass, organ, and percussion. In addition to music, Alistair enjoys skiing, running, walking/hiking, going to movies with friends, and staying up to date with news and politics.
