Meet Aiden

Aiden Bower (French horn), 17, from Jacksonville, Florida, is currently a senior at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, and a private student of Carolyn Wahl. He began playing horn in sixth grade at the LaVilla School of the Arts, with whom he performed in the 2020 College Band Directors National Association Southern Division Conference (CBDNA). After joining Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, Aiden had the opportunity to perform alongside the Douglas Anderson Wind Symphony for the 2023 New York Wind Bands Festival at Carnegie Hall, the 2023 Western International Band Clinic (WIBC) in Seattle, Washington, and he soon will be traveling with the same band to participate in the 2025 Music for All National Festival in Indianapolis.

Aiden has been a member of the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra program since 2020, participating each year in their “Major/Minor” concert. This concert provides the opportunity to perform with and be coached by members of the Jacksonville Symphony. Aiden has also participated in the Florida Music Education Association (FMEA) All-State Conference for the past three years. After winning a full-tuition Douglas Anderson Foundation Scholarship, Aiden had the opportunity to attend the Kinhaven Music School and participate in their six-week “Senior Session” in the summer of 2024.

Outside of music, Aiden is an Eagle Scout and enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with friends.

Receiving the Award will assist Aiden in covering his college audition travel needs as well as pay for private lessons, band fees, and provide the opportunity to attend a summer music festival in 2025.
