Meet Adèle-Marie

ADÈLE-MARIE BUIS of River Forest Illinois is in the second year of her graduate studies at New England Conservatory. She studies with John Ferrillo, principal oboist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO). Last year at New England Conservatory, Buis was selected to perform as the featured soloist in a BSO Prelude concert curated by composer Bernard Rands. Buis was the solo oboist on Rands’ Oboe Concertino. Before moving to Boston for her Master’s degree, Adèle-Marie lived in Chicago and studied at DePaul University with Eugene Izotov (principal oboe, Chicago Symphony Orchestra) for her undergraduate degree. During that time, she was also a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. While in Chicago, Buis had the privilege of performing with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and being a featured soloist with a number of Chicago musical organizations, including the Chicago Chorale and the Chicago Jazz Ensemble.
